“Ce quatrième tome n'a pas grand intérêt et n'a l'âme d'un Sally Lockhart que par son nom.
Nous suivons Jim (le meilleur ami de Sally) tout le long du livre et nous ne voyons cette dernière qu'au début et à la toute fin. Ce n'était sur le papier, pas une mauvaise idée, mais le scénario gâche l'expérience.
Nous retrouvons au début du livre la petite Adélaïde, qui s'avère être devenue princesse (??) d'un petit pays inventé. Absolument tout le déroulement géopolitique n'a aucun sens. Une étrangère illétrée anglaise, issue de bas quartier, a donc apprit à parler "un allemand parfait" (une langue facile à apprendre en plus...) au bout d'à peine six mois, se fait acclamer reine par le peuple et dirige seule le pays ? C'est ridicule.
Les autres tomes ont toujours été à la limite du possible tout en restant un minimum réalistes, mais ce tome n'a pas de sens, les personnages ne sont pas intéressants, et certains personnages sont introduits mais ne servent à rien. Ce n'est pas parce que c'est un livre jeunesse qu'il faut se reposer sur ses acquis précédents et nous pondre ce genre d'histoire.
Bref, pas un livre abominable, mais pas nécessairement à lire.”
