“For a children’s book, this one is excellent! A boy who has the heart of a teacher, bringing people together in war times. As a teacher of multi-language students, I will be getting a copy of this to keep in my classroom. I wish I had read this physically, because there were some places that would lend itself to annotation over one- line quotes. Really well done.

Award-winning author Daniel Nayeri, who was born in Iran and immigrated to Oklahoma as a refugee, captivated readers with his poignant memoir Everything Sad Is Untrue (Printz Award) and the epic adventure The Many Assassinations of Samir, the Seller of Dreams (Newbery Honor).
