The Sun Is Also a Star

By Nicola Yoon
The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • NATIONAL BOOK AWARD FINALIST • NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE • An all-encompassing, whirlwind romance that’s “beautifully crafted” (People) and “full of intelligence, understanding and hope” (Los Angeles Times)

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR: The New York Times Book Review, BuzzFeed, PopSugar, Publishers Weekly, New York Public Library • A Kirkus Reviews Best Young Adult Book of the Century

Natasha: I’m a girl who believes in science and facts. Not fate. Not destiny. Or dreams that will never come true. I’m definitely not the kind of girl who meets a cute boy on a crowded New York City street and falls in love with him. Not when my family is twelve hours away from being deported to Jamaica. Falling in love with him won’t be my story.

Daniel: I’ve always been the good son, the good student, living up to my parents’ high expectations. Never the poet. Or the dreamer. But when I see her, I forget about all that. Something about Natasha makes me think that fate has something much more extraordinary in store—for both of us.

The Universe: Every moment in our lives has brought us to this single moment. A million futures lie before us. Which one will come true?

The Sun Is Also a Star Reviews

3.5
“I have no words.”
“YES. THAT WAS SO PERFECT. I loved this book so much oh my god, I haven’t ever read a book this fast. This was everything.”
“This is the third time I’ve read this book and I love it every time . It’s a comfort read for me . Each time I read it I have a new perspective on the book and life too . It’s a cute easy read and is one of my favourites ☺️ I recommend to anyone and please read the book first before watching the film 😅🙏🏻”
“Set in one day in New York City, ‘The Sun is Also a Star’ finds Jamaican-born Natasha on the day of her deportation meeting and falling in love with a Korean boy, Daniel. For a YA book, the romance is extreme as expected (Natasha even gives the eye-roll-worthy line “promise me you won’t fall in love with me”), but the handling of interracial relationships and conversations of immigration were very good. The epilogue was nice but predictable and rushed and not to the quality of the rest of the book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
