It takes some convincing, but Georgina finally agrees to go along with Kelsey on her Summer of Yes adventures. The two of them set off to see what might be out there waiting for them if they simply open themselves up to it. Together, they say yes to whatever comes their way--a whole day being tourists in their own New York City, dinner with strangers, a convertible that is far from practical but so much fun. But when Kelsey springs a surprise visit to Georgina's son Hayden and Georgina's ex-husband (who is not so much of an ex), the older woman is less than thrilled. But this is where the true journey begins.

I wanted to like this book so bad; the premise sounded so interesting & I was excited to get into a book that was more about life & sending an important message than about romance. Unfortunately, this book is an incredibly boring, generic, & predictable romance disguised as a book with a lot more depth. I genuinely didn’t even expect a very prominent romance because the book begins with Kelsey deciding to focus on herself & her dreams, so her falling for literally the first man that looks in her direction was so utterly disappointing &, in my opinion, completely ruined what I thought was the entire purpose of the book. I love a romance, but I do think that this particular story had literally no need for one, especially one so utterly bland & pointless.
I really liked Georgina & her character growth but thought that her’s & Kelsey’s relationship should have been the main focus of this book, especially because I found it so incredibly difficult to like Kelsey. All Kelsey does is walk around having a crisis about how she’s always said no to everything & hasn’t really lived, which should have been interesting & powerful, but her “saying yes!” was just so incredibly repetitive. I found her single-mindedness so annoying that it genuinely ruined the lesson this book was trying to teach.
There was so much potential for a truly deep book, but Walsh took this in such an unfortunately disappointing direction & shoved her life lesson so far down the reader’s throat that it just became annoying & ruined everything that could have been enjoyable about this book. I almost DNFed this, & honestly probably wouldn’t have regretted it had I stopped when I realized that this book was not what I was hoping for.”
