The Stone Sky
ByPublisher Description
Humanity will finally be saved or destroyed in the shattering conclusion to the post-apocalyptic and highly acclaimed NYT bestselling trilogy that won the Hugo Award three years in a row.
The Moon will soon return. Whether this heralds the destruction of humankind or something worse will depend on two women.
Essun has inherited the power of Alabaster Tenring. With it, she hopes to find her daughter Nassun and forge a world in which every orogene child can grow up safe.
For Nassun, her mother's mastery of the Obelisk Gate comes too late. She has seen the evil of the world, and accepted what her mother will not admit: that sometimes what is corrupt cannot be cleansed, only destroyed.

“I can’t believe it’s over. This was one of the best things I have ever put myself through. Amazing world building, with flawed and human characters. This is one of those books that I’m going to be thinking about for a long time and wishing I could read it for the first time all over again.”

“Phenomenal book.
Every theme Jemisin tackled in this trilogy, she abolutely nailed. From the critique of imperialism/colonialism to the inner workings of oppression, control and cultural assimilation, to the topics of generational trauma and identity, she just nailed it all.
It's a rough read at times because it deals with *heavy* stuff throughout the whole trilogy, and the writing style can (and will) put some people off, but I've been simply blown away by this saga.
This third and last book also provides a LOT of excellent world building and context to the story, which I admit I thought was a bit lacking up to this point, so that's also a big plus in my book.
Great story, great characters, and themes that have sadly never been so relevant... Five hecking stars it is.
Simply memorable.”
