“Rick Bragg brings his signature wit, humor, style and considerable writing chops to this story of his rescue dog. Speck was a down and out, half dead, half blind stray who wandered onto Bragg’s Alabama farm. He ended up being a crazy, wild, goofy, one of a kind dog, but still managed to steal everyone’s heart. He was the dog they didn’t know they needed. Rick Bragg is a favorite writer of mine and his books are a treasure trove of southern lore.”
