The Sound in Silence

By M.L. Philpitt
The Sound in Silence by M.L. Philpitt digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Fairy tales tease the existence of a better life. For Ariella Lambert, they don't exist, and her trauma-induced selective mutism meant letting go of the future she once dreamed of. Now deeply embedded within the Corsetti mafia family by her sister's union, she seeks a fraction of control and volunteers herself for an arranged marriage with the head of another crime family.

Erico Rossi, underboss of the New York Famiglia, was enthralled by Ariella from their first meeting. After one engagement is broken, he agrees to the offered union to Ariella, with the intent of formulating a loveless marriage. Ariella's expressive silence sparks his interest in her, and soon, Erico wants to know his new wife in every way possible. Sometimes silence can be louder than noise.

The Sound in Silence is a mafia romance with content some readers may find triggering.

“To be honest I didn’t have high expectations for this book I jumped from the first book to this one cause I really wanted to know what was Ariella’s story. And her story didn’t not disappoint, I love how Erico was such a dominant man in all aspects of his life but I love how he could be submissive with her. It sucks that she didn’t get her fairytale ending but and least he loves her too dead. I can also say that authors writing definitely has changed from book one all the way to book 5 and get some more complex and just better overall, I can say this book is definitely way better than book one I did go ahead I skipped all the way to her book. And totally forgetting that these are kind of like a dark inspired of fairytales not realizing that this was little mermaid one and I realize it as I was reading it’s amazing how the author depicted when Ariel has no voice in Ariella doesn’t it have any voice. I think that depiction was amazing. I love how the romance built I felt like in the first book it was just there out of nowhere no build up. I will eventually read the other ones such as second through four, but I can say, this one was amazing”
