“The 10 Best New Mystery and Thriller Books of December are Giving Us Literal Chills”—E! Online

“10 Books to Cozy Up With This December”—PopSugar

A popular sorority girl. An unsolved murder. A campus podcast with chilling repercussions.

Lucas Vega is obsessed with the death of Candace Swain, who left a sorority party one night and never came back. Her body was found after two weeks, but the case has grown cold. Three years later while interning at the medical examiner's, Lucas discovers new information, but the police are not interested.

Lucas knows he has several credible pieces of the puzzle. He just isn't sure how they fit together. So he creates a podcast to revisit Candace's last hours. Then he encourages listeners to crowdsource what they remember and invites guest lecturer Regan Merritt, a former US marshal, to come on and share her expertise.

New tips come in that convince Lucas and Regan they are onto something. Then shockingly one of the podcast callers turns up dead. Another hints at Candace's secret life, a much darker picture than Lucas imagined—and one that implicates other sorority sisters. Regan uses her own resources to bolster their theory and learns that Lucas is hiding his own secret. The pressure is on to solve the murder, but first Lucas must come clean about his real motives in pursuing this podcast—before the killer silences him forever.

The Sorority Murder Reviews

3.5
“It reminded me a bit of “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” it all starts with a school project, a podcast, and a thirst to find out the truth. We have Lucas who decides to investigate a cold case of a sorority student Candace that was murdered 3 years ago for a school project. He decides to start a podcast to document his findings and also invite listeners to call if they know something. While he’s investigating his advisor connects him with an ex Marshall Regan who for her own reasons decides to help him investigate. They eventually stir the pot and start finding more information and the killer is now making their moves to keep what has happened a secret. We have multiple povs in this book as well as Candace diary entries as chapters which helps tie the whole book together. It was entertaining and also I liked the way Regan and Lucas interact and are willing to go the extra mile to find the truth once the pieces start coming together. We also have a small plot twist that makes the whole picture come to light. I wasn’t a fan of the romance I felt like it was just fluff inserted to make the book more enticing but it was not needed. The villain was a good one it made me also think of how there are people like that. They want to be liked and stay on top no matter what it takes. It’s sad that so many people died or got hurt for others agenda but I’m glad we got a satisfying ending.”
“I hate when I can guess the ending :( also pacing felt a bit slow for me”
