The Seville Communion

By Arturo Perez-Reverte
The Seville Communion by Arturo Perez-Reverte digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Someone has hacked into the Pope's personal computer-not to spy on the Vatican or to spread a virus, but to send an urgent plea for help: SAVE OUR LADY OF THE TEARS. The crumbling Baroque church in the heart of Seville is slated for demolition-but two of its defenders have suddenly died. Accidents? Or murders? And was the church itself somehow involved? The Vatican promptly dispatches Father Lorenzo Quart, their worldly and enormously attractive emissary, to investigate the situation, track down the hacker, known only as "Vespers"-and stay alive. Thus begins a sophisticated and utterly suspenseful page-turner that has taken its readers by storm. The Seville Communion is superb entertainment, a rich and intricate thriller that announces another triumph by a master storyteller who excels at the intellectually provocative mystery.

The Seville Communion Reviews

3.5
“This book had the potential of a Dan Brown novel, but the ending was quite a letdown. The description of Seville was picturesque and beautiful. While the writing was highly descriptive, this detailed setting also took up what felt like 80% of the story. In terms of the characters, none of them were likable or remarkable. There were moments of interest, such as the book's intention to make readers ponder history, the clash between tradition and the modernization of religion and its churches, and its point of view on faith. However, the storytelling was quite disappointing, as one of the biggest plot details was only revealed in the very last chapter and sentence, which provided zero satisfaction and more of a relief that the book was finally over.”
“I’d say 3.5 ⭐️. Well written, had me wondering how much of it is based on real events since people like Pavelic are mentioned. Some surprising events but expected the major ones.”
