The Sandman Murders
ByPublisher Description
In January 1999, the small New England town of Locklyn was rocked by a series of brutal child murders. The media later dubbed the killer’s identity as the Sandman owing to the fact that the eyes of all the children were glued shut with sand. The sole survivor, an eight-year-old named Alex Baxter, escaped the grips of the Sandman’s sadistic plans, however. Soon thereafter, the Sandman was caught and subsequently killed by a jury of his own peer—his own wife. The town buried its tragedies and tried to move on with life. But what this town and its inhabitants will soon learn is that you cannot keep the past buried for long. Ten years later, the town is thrown yet again into chaos when five children go missing within a two-week span. But subsequently, after a massive manhunt, the children are found, safe and sound. Was it the work of the Sandman? The person responsible is never caught and the case goes cold. The town sleeps soundly once again. Now, exactly twenty years later, the town of Locklyn is faced with one of its biggest snowstorms of the century which throws the town into utter disarray. But as the snow starts to fall, the blood begins to run. One of the children taken ten years before ends up gruesomely murdered in the same fashion as the original killings some twenty years before. Has the Sandman returned to finish what they started? Or there a new maniac at play?
