“I absolutely loved this book! Durham created such a complex cast of characters in this book, and this gives the book so much depth and substance. I am normally a pretty slow reader, but I devoured this books in half the time it usually takes me to read a book of this size, although the last 150 pages or so were hard because I knew the book was about to end and I didn't want it to. All in all, I loved this book and I cannot wait to pick up his other book about Hannibal, which I will be picking up the next time I go to my local library.”

His novels have twice been New York Times Notable Books, have won the 2001 First Novel Award and the 2002 Alex Award from the American Library Association, and have been translated into eight languages. Durham won the 2009 John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer of Science Fiction. He currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.
