“Book 18 - Rick Burgess & Bill ‘Bubba’ Bussey - The Rick & Bubba Code
I had one rule when I started my Readings in Lockdown - no matter how hard the book was to get in to - Imperium, I’m looking at you; no matter how difficult the old fashioned language - Dracula I see you - I would have to finish the book I chose, after all something made me lift it off the shelf. This one...this was really tough.
It was a very different read. It hasn’t aged well in its sexist comments and attitudes and at times I was cringing. Some parts were funny, witty even but mostly just a bit silly. Emotional ? Yes but so so Southern Evangelically Conservative...that isn’t necessarily bad but this time...well...no...not for me...however...
A real easy read but am hoping the CD that came with it will be better. It did hit the mark when talking about work and decorating - yes seriously....those who know me will understand the issues I have with DIY...
My favourite section ! Home Alone...with Dad....’nuff said !
