A new evil has risen from the depths of the earth to terrorize the land of Girdlegard. Monstrous creatures -- half-orc, half-élfar -- are roaming the kingdom, leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake. These merciless hybrids are on a mission to obtain the most powerful weapon known to the dwarf race -- and whoever holds this weapon will control the world.

Then when the fossilized Magus Lot-Ionan is stolen, Tungdil spies total disaster on the horizon. With the very existence of the dwarves under threat, he will have to resort to his trusty double ax and risk everything he knows to save his country from annihilation . . .

The Revenge of the Dwarves Reviews

3.5
“What is there to say? I overall like this series and in ways this does improve on books 1-2 by having the major characters like Tungdil and Boïndil be more three-dimensional and flawed. The plot was also built up well and I thought that the climax was quite intense. For the negatives, I guess I'm not too happy with the whole Boïndil-Goda romance. I like Goda as a character and Boïndil is a well-written deuteragonist, but their romance felt icky to me because of the age gap + power imbalance combo. We're clearly supposed to like Boïndil but him thirsting after his apprentice doesn't make him very likable to me. There's also an incest relationship + brief mentions of rape (regarding the villains, not Boïndil). I also don't like how sidelined Balyndis is in this book. She's barely there and almost completely forgotten about by the end in favor of Sirka. I like Sirka okay, but it feels like a huge disservice to Balyndis' character to just "replace" her like this. Overall a solid installment, but it has its flaws.”
