“Questo è il secondo libro che leggo di Camilla Sten e, nonostante l’abbia trovato un buon thriller d’intrattenimento con qualche suggestione horror, c’è sempre qualcosa che non mi convince.
“L’erede” fin dall’inizio sembra dare troppi indizi al lettore, troppi elementi chiave per risolvere il mistero. Già a pagina 50 pensavo di aver capito a grandi linee quale mistero si celasse dietro alla storia e non è una bella sensazione perché i thriller più riusciti sono quelli che, pur avendo la soluzione ben visibile, non fanno capire niente fino alla fine, quelli che stupiscono in tutto, non il contrario. Fortunatamente, andando avanti con la lettura, mi sono resa conto che la storia non era tutta lì, ci sono dei risvolti nascosti che vengono svelati successivamente, però per me non c’è stato nessun colpo di scena veramente sorprendente, in linea generale ci sono stati troppi retroscena intuibili in anticipo.
Il pregio del libro per me è stato l'ottimo coinvolgimento, l’autrice è molto brava a creare situazioni inquietanti, a tenere alta la tensione, un po’ meno brava invece con i personaggi, che (esattamente come nel libro precedente - Il villaggio perduto) ho trovato inconsistenti, senza profondità e le relazioni tra loro sono del tutto assurde, fastidiose, asettiche, come se fossero dei totali sconosciuti che casualmente si trovano nello stesso posto.
Altra nota dolente: il finale. In parte lo avevo previsto, in parte no. Ma proprio ciò che non avevo previsto, ciò che mi avrebbe dovuta sorprendere, è ciò che mi è piaciuto di meno, perché l'ho trovato forzato, ingannevole nel senso sbagliato (ci sono “regole” nei thriller che non dovrebbero essere violate… non posso entrare nei dettagli per non spoilerare… ma, mentre lo leggevo ero assolutamente delusa).
Non so, forse sono io che non vado d’accordo con questa autrice.”
