Publisher Description

New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James returns to the Would-Be Wallflowers series with an enemies-to-lovers romance between a proper earl and an entirely improper lady—whom he can’t stop thinking about.

Giles Renwick, Earl of Lilford, has never made a fool of himself over a woman—until he meets Lady Yasmin Régnier. Yasmin is ineligible for his attentions in every way: not as a wife, certainly not as a mistress (she is a lady!), nor even as a friend, since they vehemently dislike each other.  Her gowns are too low, and her skirts are dampened to cling to admittedly lovely thighs. She loves to gossip—and giggle.

She isn’t dignified, or polite, or even truly British, given that her father’s French ancestry clearly predominated. Not to mention the fact that her mother had been one of Napoleon’s mistresses, a fact she makes no effort to hide.

So what—in heaven’s name—possesses him to propose?

And what will he do if she says yes?

Red Angry Face“I hate his sister. She was the cruel one and gossip untruths a lot more than Yasmine. She didn’t get any punishment or something for everything she did😤 The ml… mmm.. I don’t like him. Yasmine deserves someone a much better man than him. He constantly shames her, believes every goddamn gossip about her and constantly are cruel to her. He shames what she wears and shame her for her ”past”. He doesn’t even know her past, only cruel gossips other people says about her.😠😤 I loved Yasmie because she was so nice and even if Lydia was so cruel towards her, she just let it be. I wish she had a lot more backbone to Lydia and other mean people. She was to nice!😭 The other good thing is that she doesn’t listen to cruel gossip about her. ❤️ But it also feels like Lydia (mls sister) was the ”lead” than Yasmine. Lydia took up way to much space than she should have in this story. Felt like Yasmine was the side character in this one😢 The other character I loved was Yasmins grandfather❤️ He was so supportive and so protective of Yasmine❤️ She has a truly good grandfather❤️”
