Publisher Description

From beloved, RITA-award-winning author Kennedy Ryan comes the gripping, passionate finale of the All the King's Men duology.

Though surrender is what Maxim Cade demanded of Lennix Hunter's body and heart, she had other plans. They were fast-burning fascination and combustible chemistry, the son of an oil baron and the Apache daughter at war with his family, but she trusted him, and he turned out to be a thief who stole her love.

Still, if what they had was a lie, why had it felt so real?

Now, the man she swore to hate is about to have it all, and he wants Lennix at his side. But when the two of them are forced to face the unthinkable, their rocky foundation is tested, as is the invisible thread that seems to wind their fates together. As they navigate a treacherous political landscape in their quest for justice, Maxim and Lennix soon learn that power is a game, and they are merely the pawns and players. Facing insurmountable odds, will they win the world, or will they lose it all?

“Loved this book I Amin love with Maxim. Where can I get one?? This is the second book in the Kingmaker series, and you do have to read them in order. I just love the dynamics between Lennix and Maxim. They love each other fiercely but still allow the other to be who they are. This is a must read for everyone”
“Balanced relationship. Unexplored drama. Could have been longer because of that.”
“Thank you Source Books/Bloom books, NetGalley, and Kennedy Ryan for this ARC copy of The Kingmaker in exchange for my honest opinion and review. This was book 2 in a duo logy for All the King's Men by Kennedy Ryan. I will keep this review shorter than my previous one to prevent sharing too many details and spoil it for those looking to read themselves! Once again I was entranced by Ryan's ability to divulge such powerful, sensitive information in a brilliant romance story. After earth shattering events occur our favorite couple finds themselves fighting for their love... and lives. Will they finally find the happiness denied them all this time? I cannot recommend this one enough! If you are looking for an honest, top tier romance that will educate you and impress you - this is the one. There is so much depth to the writing in this series, and I cannot get enough of it! I literally devoured this duo logy over the course of a few days! Read if you love: -Enemies to lovers -Politically charged main characters -STRONG main characters -Age Gap -Star Crossed Lovers -Native American Education -Possessive Alpha Males -Mental Health **You will want to check your trigger warnings with this one before going in. Sensitive scenarios occur that may trigger PTSD for anyone who has experienced similar traumas.”
“Okay, so listen... I read The Kingmaker... and realized within the first 2 chapters I would need book #2. The Rebel King wasn't set to arrive until Saturday afternoon, but I finished The Kingmaker on Friday evening. YES I DID order it on Kindle because I couldn't wait 12 hours to start the next book and continue the story. WHAT I LOVED MOST: ⁀➷ There is so much depth in this story, and in each characters growth, but it was such a smooth read... not too heavy, but depth and heart. ⁀➷ So much burn and ache, even for a couple that is actually TOGETHER ⁀➷ I cried. And it's a good thing. Books rarely pull that much emotion from me... but this one. Oh boy, it did. ⁀➷ The HEA is worth the duology... we don't get a pretty tied ribbon at the end, but the perfect amount of basking in the glory of the couples love and resolve FAVORITE QUOTES: ***In my review of The Kingmaker, I stated that I could turn to any page and find and impactful quote... that statement is possibly, even more true in this book) ⁀➷ "You don't hold back someone like Lennix because the beauty is how she flies. I want to see her soar. I just want to make sure she always lands safely." ⁀➷ "She probably doesn't believe me, but earning the love of this woman is the greatest thing I've ever done, and I want to keep doing it for the rest of my life." ⁀➷ "Don't any of you ever ask me to wear a fucking golf shirt again. I don't care if millennials love them. I don't care if they make single mothers feel attractive or if the color blue makes men between the ages of thirty and forty-five trust me." golf ⁀➷ "Sometimes, but listen. This nation has a painful, problematic past with it's treatment of Native Americans. Someone like Lennix can't even hold a twenty-dollar bill without seeing Andrew Jackson. They buy their groceries with money celebrating the man who caused them arguably the most pain." ⁀➷ "She lived like everyday was her last, being bold and loving and loud with no reserve, but she also lived like there were seven generations coming behind her." This duology changed the bar for all romance novels for me. Kennedy Ryan is masterful, and I will follow her and her stories to the ends of the earth! Please read this series... it will make you a better person and a loyal fan.”
“The ending of book 1 left me absolutely shocked and I jumped into this book immediately, looking for answers, which we get pretty quickly but it had my heart racing ! Maxim and Lennix are just such a power couple and their love is mature and strong, able to resist all storms, and storms there are ! I was a bit disappointed by the plot twist mid-way, I think it did not really make sense and was a bit too over the top for my liking. It also had an open ending, and that I really enjoyed but I lnow not every one does so be warned. They are happy. For now :)”
