About Stephanie Ellis

Stephanie Ellis was born with cerebral palsy after the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck, which affects her speech and body movements. It was so traumatic that she went into a coma. Her mother was told to let her go because she would never wake up, and when she did wake up, her mother was again told to let her go on the basis that she would be a vegetable all her life. She has since graduated high school, attended college, and moved into her own apartment. She now lives in her own house with her husband and two stepdaughters.
