“justice for Sibyl and Basil”
“A classic for a reason!! I had a blast reading this book but I would absolutely have struggled if I had picked up an edition without footnotes/endnotes. They saved my reading experience. Additionally, there’s a section in the middle that is essentially just a compilation of several lists of various people and things from different areas of interest (music, gemstones, embroidery, etc.) that felt like a slog. Power through! The ending is worth the trek. Overall, I’d definitely say go for it to readers looking to get more in touch with the literary cannon but would hesitate to recommend this book anyone who prefers casual reads. If in doubt, give it a try! I’m glad I did”

John Kenny

Oscar Wilde was an Irish writer and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. Today he is remembered for his epigrams, his only novel (The Picture of Dorian Gray), his plays, and the circumstances of his imprisonment and early death.
