“I did not want to like this book. J.T. is incredibly offensive. His character is rather contradictory. He hates the idea of people who abuse women, but he tackles Tess the second he sees her and then sleeps with her when she’s emotionally unstable? Also, in chapter 10 he calls Tess by her name, but at that point in the story he doesn’t know it, so something’s not adding up…
However, I just couldn’t put this book down. I just had to know what was going to happen. It was horribly creepy and entirely devastating. I usually go for serial killer novels, but this one was next level.
Additionally, despite Gardner’s intolerable characters, her writing is captivating and sprinkled with beautiful figurative language and thought provoking prose.
I would recommend this book to someone who is willing to overlook the characters and appreciate the writing as well as the concept.”María Amorín Bayón

My Thoughts:
My first Lisa Gardner book. I thought the writing was fabulous. An Ashley Judd kind of thriller Tess and JT have the right amount of tension for a romance but as a thriller Gardner brings it to a whole nother level. Who do you go to when all fails? JT.
Between JT and his sister they form up to protect Tess and her child from the serial killing slash ex making you realize there is so much more to our disillusioned siblings than we realize.
Everyone in the Perfect Husband has a past and undiscovered stories and I couldn't get enough.
Exciting and full of suspense this was perfect for me.
