“This one is yet another masterpiece.
With each story written by Ken Liu, I’m falling more in love with his work. Only he can write a simple story and still have so many layers to it. I don’t think anyone else can pull it off like he does.
This is the story of a girl facing a bit of an artist’s block, looking for inspiration. She finds it, but struggles to express it. And then, when she finally decides on how to share her experience, the story dives into how the world reacts and so much more.
This simple story touches on so many aspects of human life that I’m just mesmerized by how talented this storyteller is.”

“a fantastical short depiction of life as an artist in conjunction with an audience; I think Liu touches on all aspects of the relationship that art creates, with the artist and audience, but also the messages that are either missed or misinterpreted.
I really like that Kay struggles with her journey but that despite it all, she finds passion in what she does and believes in, and that's the best any artist can do <3.”
