Vala Hide is the Maiden of Eldox, keeper and protector of the unicorn herd. In a race against time, Vala must resist the temptation of the Brother's D'Unrnive and cross the Gully of the Trolls to reach the Land of Nomar before it is too late. She knows there is another who will take his place by her side as fellow protector of the unicorns and help free the Land of Nomar from the suffocating oppression of Pressor Direhund's rule.

Caroline was born in a country that at the time was known as Czechoslovakia. She immigrated to Canada in the summer of 1969. She is a Pushcart Prize and Journey Prize nominee with numerous published pieces under her belt. Currently, she divides her time between Haliburton and Georgetown, Ontario, where she continues to read, write and follow her muse, wherever it may take her.
