“Life was a struggle for many families during the spanish flu epidemic. Millions of lives were taken and alot of poverty had struck in many cities. Chilren were abandoned or broken up never to be reunited or found.
I just cant imagine as a child being sent to an orphanage where there was no love or compassion but only to be abused and starved. So heartbreaking for me.
I just loved Pias character. She was unstoppable! She was determined to find out what had happened to her twin brothers. No matter what it took . She went thru so much turmoil. She definitely was a strong survivor .
Pias life changed when was sent to the Hudsons who were very generous and compassionate people.
Alot happening in this book. It was hard for me to put this one down once I got into it.
I loved this book! A great read with some historical facts.
