“Another fantastic installment of my two favorite characters! The pacing is so tight and the characters grew the perfect amount. I was on the edge of my seat. We find out more about Scarlett's past and end the story with *gasp* HOPE! I have a feeling Albert's back story will finally come out in the 3rd book. It was very satisfying to see him figure out how to tap into his power. And that it doesn't change him. He's still just as sweet and loveable as always. Even going as far as inviting the other agent to join them! His loss. I also hope we find out where the tainted are coming from. This world is so big and I can't wait for the 3rd book!”
“YESS!! this book had everything that I love about Jonatham Stroud's writing. I just love his characters and how theyre their own version of complex and don't feel flat or like a copy you can find in another series. They all got their own story and motives. And how the relations among them blossom!! What i loved about Lockwood & co was the sense of community. You start off with 1 but before you know it there are a people.
I was rooting so hard for Mallory to join the gang and im really hoping he will in book 3 (a girl can dream!!) As i would love to look more into his and Scarlett's dynamics. Both so strong headed and know it all, I can just hear the sass already. Just two little bundles of trauma.
The world also feels so complex and still filled with angst. Like the mines and how complex Scarlett her relationship with the Brothers are!!
I also find it really fitting that the last book is going back towards Stonemoor and Thomas. It'll be a nice conclusion hopefully.”
