The Ninja Daughter

By Tori Eldridge
The Ninja Daughter by Tori Eldridge digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Kill Bill meets the Joy Luck Club in this edge-of-your-seat debut novel about Lily Wong; a modern-day female ninja, dedicated to rescuing women from abusive relationships while trying to hide the truth about her real life from her overprotective family.

After her sister is raped and murdered, Lily Wong dedicates her life and ninja skills to the protection of women. But her mission is complicated. Not only does she live above the Chinese restaurant owned by her Norwegian father and inspired by the recipes of her Chinese mother, but she has to hide her true self from her Hong Kong tiger mom who is already disappointed in her daughter's less than feminine ways, and who would be horrified to know what she had become.

But when a woman and her son she escorted safely to an abused women’s shelter return home to dangerous consequences, Lily is forced to not only confront her family and her past, but team up with a mysterious—and very lethal—stranger to rescue them.

“This is such a great, action packed book, I read the whole thing in one sitting. We follow Lily Wong, a Chinese-Norwegian woman who is following her dream of becoming a modern day female ninja. She’s basically the ninja version of Batman, using her martial arts skills to help women in danger and out of abusive situations. The storyline and mystery elements were super interesting, and the writing is so good and reads super fast. I would definitely check out the trigger warnings but overall this was a really really fun read. I’m definitely invested enough to continue the series. Thanks to Datura and Netgalley for this e-ARC that I chose to read and review.”
“This hooked me from page one with its gripping mystery, fast-paced action, and a fantastic heroine who’s both a skilled ninja and a woman navigating the complexities of her Chinese-Norwegian heritage. I loved how the story balanced high-stakes fights with Lily’s home life, showing how she juggles family expectations alongside her vigilante work. The mix of martial arts, cultural depth, and nonstop suspense makes this a total page-turner. Getting insight into Lily’s background raises the stakes and keeps you fully invested in her journey. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next!”
