“Eu já li O Hipnotista e adorei, por isso estava muito entusiasmada para ler este livro, mas foi tão secante!!! E, normalmente, eu adoro livros grandes porque dá espaço para os autores explorarem mais coisas, mas neste livro acho que as 500 páginas não foram necessárias, tanto que, para o fim, os capítulos que não eram sobre o Joona ou a Saga eu desisti e li-os em diagonal...
Mesmo assim, e como gostei tanto d'O Hipnotista, acho que vou continuar com a série.”

“I have never known about the genre "Nordic noir" until I tried to look up what kind of book this is. I guess that fits but its very much in line with "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" or a more normal "Bourne Identity" type protagonist.
Anyways, since I have only read the translated versions, please take some of my critiques with a grain of salt. I feel like there's always something lost a bit when you translate a book into another language, like English. There are uses of words and descriptions that maybe our language doesn't give justice to. So having said that: The Nightmare is.. not as good as The Hypnotist. It's kind of just.. fine? There are things that are interesting in it that I don't think I noticed having read these typed of books when I was younger and that is the talk about current events (at the time). This book came out when I was pretty young and it talks about the War in Darfur which.. ended only 5 years ago and started to pop up in headlines just this week. Having kind of kept my head in the sand about world events when I was younger I find that.. absolutely wild and very much something to learn more about.
Otherwise my impressions of the book are it's a bit clunky (but that might be attributed to the translation) and it never ceases to amaze me that no one stops Joona from doing anything. He literally does whatever he wants throughout the whole book with absolutely no ramifications. He forces his way into investigations? He just goes and takes things because he decides he needs them? What?
Otherwise, it's a pretty solid ok book to read. If you're not down for the historical world events the other things may bug you.
Also, this might be a spoiler but the twist of this one wasn't as twisty as the first book. It was definitely more predictable.”
