A REESE'S BOOK CLUB PICK

A #1 New York Times bestseller, Wall Street Journal Best Book of the Year, and soon to be a major motion picture, this unforgettable novel of love and strength in the face of war has enthralled a generation.

With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

“Some 5 stars are 5 stars because they make me laugh, I can read it in one sitting, they make me cry or they’re just fun to read. BUT then there are the 5 stars that alter the connections in your brain, the ones that you will think about everyday, & the ones that teach you. This book was that. This book was beautiful. From the writing to the story of women & tragedy & love during WW2. A masterpiece.”

Loudly Crying Face“Beautifully told story about two sisters struggle to survive Nazi-occupied France. The character development throughout it this novel's best feature. The plot keeps you on your toes and the character and their relationships morph and change along with it. I removed one star because I felt that the first-half had too many details that were not relevant to the story. However, I do adore this book and would reccomend it to anyone who enjoys historical fiction.”
