Publisher Description

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Then She Was Gone comes “her best thriller yet” (Harlan Coben, New York Times bestselling author) about a young couple’s disappearance on a gorgeous summer night, and the mother who will never give up trying to find them.

On a beautiful summer night in a charming English suburb, a young woman and her boyfriend disappear after partying at the massive country estate of a new college friend.

One year later, a writer moves into a cottage on the edge of the woods that border the same estate. Known locally as the Dark Place, the dense forest is the writer’s favorite place for long walks and it’s on one such walk that she stumbles upon a mysterious note that simply reads, “DIG HERE.”

Could this be a clue towards what has happened to the missing young couple? And what exactly is buried in this haunted ground?

“Utterly gripping with richly drawn, hugely compelling characters, this is a first-class thriller with heart” (Lucy Foley, New York Times bestselling author) that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Thumbs Up“A pretty typical “who dunnit” type of novel. It wasn’t overly surprising and ended up being mildly predictable. Sophie’s storyline felt purposeless and I got quite bored with it. I understand the authors intention for her involvement, but it’s been done before. The whole situation seemed pretty preventable, but it’s accurate in that things don’t always play out as planned and the inter-workings of several intertwined relationships can get quite messy. Decent enough, but not one I’d recommend.”

Expressionless Face“The Night She Disappeared 🎢 Book Type ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ✨ Stars 🚫 Spice Level From the beginning of this book I was really sucked into the mystery and the characters. The story is told from Kim, Sophies and Tallulahs perspective leading up to that night. I didn’t much care for Kim or Sophie but I still enjoyed hearing their perspective. The ending did leave me a bit unsatisfied. It was good but I wasn’t surprised by the turnout. It felt a bit like the plot twist came but just fell flat.”
