Publisher Description

#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER • Two starcrossed magicians engage in a deadly game of cunning in the spellbinding novel that captured the world's imagination. "Part love story, part fable ... defies both genres and expectations." —The Boston Globe

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“What a magical and enchanting book! 🎪 The world-building in this book is simply breathtaking — I am so amazed by Erin Morgenstern’s writing. Her words paint such vivid imagery, I could picture everything in perfect detail, and I felt like I was right there in the circus with them. Oh, how I wish it were real! Celia and Marco are just perfect. Dueling magicians that fall in love?? Sign me up! I love their chemistry and story arcs — whether together or separate. I never wanted this book to end, but it was so addictive that I could not put it down! 🖤🤍”

Beaming Face with Smiling Eyes“This book truly feels magical. I loved the circus setting and my favorite parts were when you followed some more normal characters going around the circus. It’s definitely a slow read but I found it enjoyable”

Slightly Smiling Face“This book is incredible! It is my first fantasy read and I fell in love with the characters, and the descriptive writing. The writing truly made you feel like you were there, while at the same time it had a kind of suspenseful plot, making you want to keep reading. It also has romance which is great, and I loved the ending. My only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I still have a couple unanswered questions that I was sure would get answered at the end and didn't. But I dont want to add any spoilers. Also, make sure and pay attention to the dates at the beginning of each chapter because it skips back and forth. Overall I recommend this magical book.”
