The Mystery of the Blue Train

Publisher Description
Murder on the rails! When affluent American heiress Ruth Kettering is found strangled in her car aboard Le Train Bleu, legendary detective Hercule Poirot is called out of retirement to solve the case.
The sixth book following the investigations of Poirot, The Mystery of the Blue Train (1928), sees the detective delving deep into a world of decadence and deception, meticulously picking apart a web of lies to find the killer and locate the Heart of Fire, a priceless ruby belonging to the deceased that was conspicuously missing at the scene of the crime. The novel was notoriously difficult for Christie to produce, most likely due to the unfortunate circumstances of her mother’s passing and her husband’s infidelity around the time of her writing. Despite her feelings towards the book itself, possibly due to the raw and personal subject matter contained within, the story is remembered as an exciting and powerful entry in the much-beloved Poirot series.
