The Murder Machine
ByPublisher Description
Artificial intelligence meets genuine murderous intent.
This state-of-the-art smart home has everything: a next-generation entertainment system, an ultramodern kitchen where every appliance is online and even a personal AI to control it all. Standing above its owner's lifeless body, FBI agent Jude Mackenzie is faced with the daunting task of discovering how the woman was killed by her own home. How do you catch a murderer that doesn't leave any fingerprints?
Enter Special Agent Victoria Tennant, whose familiarity with cybercrime reveals the stark truth: a machine can only do what it's been directed to. As the number of grisly "accidents" begins to rise, the pair must race to uncover the perpetrator even as they find themselves caught in their digital crosshairs! There's nowhere to hide when danger may be as close as the very phones in their pockets.

“Premise is good but the book is a slog with choppy rough dialogue. I couldn’t get into it and while there were some scenes that seemed more well written, it wasn’t worth the effort to force myself through it.”

“I usually love Heather Graham books. So I read this one simply because she wrote it. And unfortunately, I think it’s probably the worst book she’s ever written. I figured out the villain about 3/4 of the way through the book and the fact that these two FBI agents never even considered this person a suspect was ridiculous. The female FBI agent is young and hot. We’re told that multiple times. And they act like the male FBI agent is super old and he is 33.
Oh, and they talk to a guy on death row and get him to flip on his father. And then the dad, who is this big huge mafia boss, just brags to the FBI agent that he’s the one who did the killings?! Yeah, like that happens!🤦🏻♀️
Only redeeming thing about this book is that it makes you think about how much in your life is run by computers. And how everything could be hacked. AI definitely has scary possibilities.
Anyway, I would not recommend this book.”
