“You know when you go back to your high school journal, and read the musings of your brooding, pubescent self? You recognize the emotions that you felt at the time, and you understand in the grander scheme of life it was important for you to feel those things. You might even learn a little something about yourself. At the same time, you can’t help but chuckle at the naive swings of philosophy from someone who, let’s face it, hadn’t even begun life yet.
That’s this book. The emotions suck you in, because ultimately they are very real, very prevalent emotions that every person must face. However, if you are past your young adolescence and you’ve been around the bend with any level of intermediate existentialism, you will be hard pressed to find the main characters observations any more than surface-level platitudes.”
