“The way the characters develop and then overlap with each other was addictive to read. The premise of this novel is playing with the idea of, if you could go back in time to relive some past treasured moments- would you spend a small fortune to do so? Would you make choices to try to avoid certain outcomes in your life? Would that be good or bad? Could you prevent certain things from happening? Could you hold on to other things or people? There are many tender human moments captured through beautiful prose. First real love, being with your child when they are young and they need you so much, losing a child, tragic senseless accidents, and other really poignant moments many humans experience.
This book is a good choice for sci-fi readers looking for something less on the science bits and more on the heart. Also, a good choice for readers who enjoy realistic fiction. The characters are very believable and the relationships too.”
“I adore a speculative sci-fi, and this one was unique in that the scope of the idea was pretty well contained. It didn’t require going into every facet of ‘what if’ but was effective in what it set out to accomplish. I cared about the characters, their lives, and liked to see how their crossing paths affected each of them. This does have a bit of a mystery/thriller element to it if you enjoy that. I could have done with a bit more in depth contemplation of the overall concept but all in all think it was very well done.”
