The Medusa Protocol

By Rob Hart
The Medusa Protocol by Rob Hart digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Welcome back to Assassins Anonymous, the only twelve-step group where joining can be deadly.

When Astrid, known in her assassin days as Azrael, stopped showing up to Assassins Anonymous, the group assumed her past had caught up with her. Only her sponsor Mark, formerly the deadliest killer in the world, holds out hope that she’s okay. Then, during a meeting, the group gets a sign, or rather, a pizza delivery. Is there another psychopath out there who actually likes olives on their pizza, or is Astrid trying to send Mark a message?

Meanwhile, Astrid wakes up in the cell of a black site prison, on a remote island. A doctor subjects her to mysterious experiments, plumbing the depths of her memory and looking for a vital clue from her past. She’ll do anything to escape, except…killing anyone. Hmm. Turns out it’s not easy to blow this joint without blowing anything, or anyone up.

The Medusa Protocol Reviews

Rolling on the Floor Laughing Face“Would you risk your sobriety and break into a prison on a snake-infested island to save your best friend? That is the dilemma retired assassin Mark is forced to face when his friend and sponsee, Astrid, is kidnapped and held at an off-site prison on the coast of Costa Rica. This was a nice extension of the previous book, but I think I liked the first one just a little bit better. The action in the book was up to par with the first book, but I think the combination of both switching POVs and time-jumps was a little too much for me. Fast-paced and drew me in from the beginning. 4.25⭐️”
“Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 Spice Rating: 0 out of 5 Pros: - The timeline was well after the first book. Anything that happened between the first one and now was talked about to help the reader establish how much time has passed. - There was some character growth. It was extremely limited but it was there. Cons: - While I appreciated getting to know Asterid and some of her story, we didn't get a ton of it. With the plot bouncing between Mark and Asterid POVs, we lost the depth of her story. We were only confronted with the tragic parts, unlike in the first book where we're given Marks entire story. Trigger Warnings: - Child abuse, assault and exploitation, sexual assault, murder, violence.”
“This was another action packed thriller in the Assassins Anonymous series. This series is quickly becoming a must read for me as new books are released. The action had me on the edge of my seat and kept me guessing. I really enjoy the characters and I can’t wait to find out what crazy ride they are going on next. Thank you to the publisher for a copy of this book via NetGalley!”
