The Lonely Pole

By Takerra Allen
The Lonely Pole by Takerra Allen digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

THE FIRST PART OF A TWO-PART SERIES. THE LONELY POLE - A TWO PART MEGA NOVEL BY TAKERRA ALLEN!

We’ve all got dreams… How far are you willing to go for yours?

Baby, Nyema, Portia, and Rocsi couldn’t have any less in common than what meets the eye.

But under dire circumstances and through different walks of life, they all end up in the same place.

Dreamz, a seedy strip joint in the backstreets of Dirty Jerz, conceals some of the darkest secrets and holds captive the souls of many pretty girls lost.

In a day and age where the strip life is glamourized and celebrated, take a walk with four women who will tell the tale a bit differently.

Lost loves, broken hearts, dreams deferred, all in the name of the almighty dollar and it’s only a pop, twerk, and grind away.

But how far is too far, and when do you know you’ve gotten there? And even more important, how can you find your way back?

At the sad realization that the pole has no mercy, these women must come to grips with their reality.

The pole is cold, the pole is greedy, the pole is wicked, the pole is deceiving, the pole… is lonely.

The Lonely Pole Reviews

“This book pulled me in quickly, but while taking its time to lay everything out. And I actually liked that. We get just enough backstory on these four women to understand who they are individually, while also seeing the early stages of their dynamics together. You can tell their friendships and relationships are still unfolding, and I’m interested in watching that develop. It kept me entertained and turning the pages. I’m not gonna lie though, it gave me a subtle Player’s Club vibe at times, especially with Baby’s innocence in the beginning. And Trip? I don’t know. The Miami situation turned me off. I’m not sold. I don’t even know if I care to let him redeem himself… but knowing Takerra Allen, she has a way of making me bite my words and end up liking somebody I swore I didn’t.”
“This book had me hooked from the beginning! Just when Baby thought she was going to follow her dreams like she envisioned something shifted those plans. When I first met Trip at the beginning I definitely was feeling him hard but that night in Miami got me side eyeing him. I also can tell that Trip cares for Baby but that’s all I don’t really feel the chemistry. Baby seems more infatuated with him than anything. Would’ve loved to hear a little more about Rayshone he seems to genuinely like Baby although she wanted to keep things platonic. Hopefully he makes an appearance in the next book. I also love how the side characters were just as interesting. Ny’s story tugged at my heart strings for some reason 😩 I also can’t stand Portia wannabe stuck up ass. I’m hoping Baby doesn’t fall into the trap of the lifestyle but the way it’s looking I’m not too confident but can’t wait to read book 2! Parachutes by TA was my top reads in 2025 I definitely think this book will also end up in my tops by her.”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“Loved the story but the formatting in the kindle app is jumbled and mixed POV’s without warning.”
