The Locked Door

By Freida McFadden
The Locked Door by Freida McFadden digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Some doors are locked for a reason…

While eleven-year-old Nora Davis was up in her bedroom doing homework, she had no idea her father was killing women in the basement.

Until the day the police arrived at their front door.

Decades later, Nora’s father is spending his life behind bars, and Nora is a successful surgeon with a quiet, solitary existence. Nobody knows her father was a notorious serial killer. And she intends to keep it that way.

Then Nora discovers one of her young female patients has been murdered. In the same unique and horrific manner that her father used to kill his victims.

Somebody knows who Nora is. Somebody wants her to take the fall for this unthinkable crime. But she’s not a killer like her father. The police can’t pin anything on her.

As long as they don’t look in her basement.

The Locked Door Reviews

3.5
“A Book Review No One Asked For The Locked Door by Freida McFadden I gave this book a 4.5 out of 5 because that plot twist had me sitting there with my jaw open. I kept thinking I had the killer figured out and every single time I was wrong. I was so sure it was Nora. Like confident. Then the book hit me with “lol no” and I just had to close it for a second and breathe. This story is weird, twisted, messy, and lowkey uncomfortable in the best way. I was side-eyeing everybody. The only thing I wanted more of was her dad, that basement, and how all that really shaped her. I feel like there was more to squeeze out of that storyline. But overall, it did what it needed to do. It confused me. It tricked me. It dragged me right along for the ride. If you love a mind game book that plays with you the entire time, go read it. Bye.”
