The Legacy Chronicles: Into the Fire

By Pittacus Lore
The Legacy Chronicles: Into the Fire by Pittacus Lore digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

The X-Files meets The X-Men in this digital original companion series that's set in the world of Pittacus Lore’s #1 New York Times bestselling I Am Number Four series and coincides with Generation One.

This is the second 100-page novella, continuing the exhilarating story of fan favorite characters Six and Sam.

After escaping from their sabotaged plane and avoiding a crash, Six, Sam, and their new charges manage to make it to the Human Garde Academy and meet up with Nine. Instead of continuing their investigation, though, the Garde decide they must take on the dangerous new foe who has abducted their friends and allies.

But the trail has gone cold, and the only way to find their enemy is to infiltrate his organization. Against Six and Sam’s better judgment, they send Rena and Nemo undercover. But things take a frightening turn when the two young teens are forced to play a deadly game, and Six and Sam may not be able to reach them in time.

The Legacy Chronicles novellas are published as individual digital originals, and the first three stories are also available together in one print volume: The Legacy Chronicles: Trial by Fire.

  • Undercover Mission: When the trail goes cold, young Garde Rena and Nemo must infiltrate a ruthless organization that exploits those with powers. But their cover might not hold for long.
  • A Deadly Game: The mission takes a terrifying turn when the teens are forced into a twisted hunt where they are the prey, and survival is the only prize.
  • Fan Favorite Characters: Join Six, Sam, and Nine as they guide a new generation, balancing mentorship with a high-stakes rescue in the world of the I Am Number Four series.
  • Superhero Academy Setting: From the halls of the Human Garde Academy to the remote wilderness of Montana, the fight for the future continues.

The Legacy Chronicles: Into the Fire Reviews

3.5
Anxious Face with sweat“This one was quite a surprise for me! I'm left with a lot of anxiety at the end of this and immediately need to start the next book!”
“1-3 of The Legacy Chronicles. This book is made up of three novellas: Out of the Ashes, Into the Fire and Up in Smoke. Too little too late, but I’ve only just realised that these six novellas should be read specifically between books in the Legacies Reborn series, but whoops oh well. - Out of the Ashes: 3 ⭐️ As a big fan of this series, this novella kind of fell short. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy it and I love parallel storytelling across books in this universe/series, but it was just meh. I’m not a fan of Six and Sam’s romantic interactions, I find they’re quite cringe. Was this novella needed? Not really, I found before continuing that it’s not really added anything to the Lorien Legacies Reborn series storyline. - Into the Fire: 2 ⭐️ I’m not sure why Six has been written to be weaker, dumb and helpless. She never would have fallen for such obvious traps in the Lorien Legacies series, so not sure why her character has changed - I’ve noticed this with a few others in this novella series too, do they not want to use legacies anymore? - Up in Smoke: 2 ⭐️ Again, same issue with the other ones. Why have they made the characters so weak? Obviously due to xyz happening I get, but before that it’s like are these the same characters from the Lorien Legacies series. I feel the writer wrote them as all powerful beings and now he’s trying to bring it back to reality, making this sort of like a crime fighting story? It had none of the elements I loved about the Lorien Legacies and Legacies Reborn series. Where’s the sci-fi gone? Where’s the power gone? Where have these strongly written characters gone? Summary, this is just a very watered down version of the Legacies Reborn series. After such a strong main series, these 3 novella fell very short.”
