Publisher Description

INSPIRATION FOR THE ORIGINAL SERIES THE LINCOLN LAWYER – COMING SOON TO NETFLIX

Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller is back on the job in this heart-stopping thriller from a renowned #1 New York Times bestselling author.

“One of the finest legal thrillers of the last decade” —Associated Press

On the night he celebrates a big win, defense attorney Mickey Haller is pulled over by police, who find the body of a former client in the trunk of his Lincoln. Haller is immediately charged with murder but can’t post the exorbitant $5 million bail slapped on him by a vindictive judge.

Mickey elects to represent himself and is forced to mount his defense from his jail cell in the Twin Towers Correctional Center in downtown Los Angeles. All the while he needs to look over his shoulder—as an officer of the court he is an instant target, and he makes few friends when he reveals a corruption plot within the jail.

But the bigger plot is the one against him. Haller knows he’s been framed, whether by a new enemy or an old one. As his trusted team, including his half-brother, Harry Bosch, investigates, Haller must use all his skills in the courtroom to counter the damning evidence against him.

Even if he can obtain a not-guilty verdict, Mickey understands that it won’t be enough. In order to be truly exonerated, he must find out who really committed the murder and why. That is the law of innocence.

In his highest stakes case yet, the Lincoln Lawyer fights for his life and proves again why he is “a worthy colleague of Atticus Finch . . . in the front of the pack in the legal thriller game” (Los Angeles Times).

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“my favourite read thus far”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“this installment in the Lincoln lawyer series is most definitely in my tops of the series. it not only made me love Mickey Holler as a character more but also appreciated Michael Connolly as an author as well. this book released in 2020 and therefore took place during the 2020 pandemic. So as always Michael Connolly is very topical. however it's how he was topical in this it made me like him more the writer and a person. with certain positions he took not only on the virus but also the political background. It makes me appreciate him more and enjoy his books more. cuz I feel that a lot of big name mystery thriller writers tend to fall down a more conservative point of view like Tom Clancy. it's nice to have Michael Conley be a little more left-leaing neutral. as in doesn't directly give out his position, but just bases his belief system on general right and wrong and knowledge and facts. definitely something to be taken of someone who has based his entire career on being a journalist. But the book itself is just phenomenal. with Mickey Haller taking on his most challenging case. himself being accused of murder. with a fantastic deeper conspiracy going on on the federal level that he is trying to not only prove but bring to court, with with nail biting suspense of not only being in prison but being in prison with the threat of a global pandemic on the rise. I feel this book really brings Mickey Haller to the brink of all his skills and it's definitely a true handbook to the skills and strategies he used as a lawyer. It also is amazing seeing more of Jennifer Anderson come into her own as a lawyer. she's one of my favorite characters and I love that they combine her and Lorna in the TV show but I love her as a character on her own and I also feel like it's a missed opportunity not to include her. I have to learn to separate the two. I also enjoy that Maggie play the bigger role in this book and not only as a prosecutor turn defense attorney but also as a person. I feel like her character softened as a series went on and I was very shocked in the gods of guilt when his daughter stopped talking to him she was Mickey's biggest defender. And we see that even more that she let go of all the animosity she had in the early books that made her a little unlikable. becoming a strong advocate as well as strong defender to Mickey. overall this book is a thrill ride that will have every courtroom seen keeping you on the edge of your seats. especially with the entertaining judge who won't take crap from no one. this book probably is definitely my favorite. It makes me more excited with how they're going to handle it with season 4 of the Netflix show.”
