“The Last Man She expected by Michelle Major is the second book in the Welcome to Starlight series. This book is a frenemies romance.
Mara is raising her daughter all on her own after her ruthless divorce from her ex husband. He would give her sole custody of their daughter if she walked away without child support or any help from him. How do you explain to a child that the father they constantly ask for wants nothing to do with them.
Parker goes back to his hometown to help his brother with his niece while his brother is getting his life back together from his ex wife walking out on him. Parker is shark in the court room and small town life is not something he expected to consume him.
Parker and Mara meet again because of her daughter and his niece. They have to become friendly for the girls sake even if Mara hates the ground Parker walks on. She must realize he was doing his job in her divorce and her ex is the enemy not Parker.”
