“This book took me forever.
Was it bad? No. Was it a difficult read? Kinda.
I only say it was difficult because oh my gosh was it heavy. Obviously with a title like that you know there is going to be some sad stuff happening. Then when you factor in the author you know it’ll be even heavier.
Then you see the background for the novel, about how this book is her grief after losing those she loved…oof you are in for a heavy read.
This was beautifully written. My heart felt heavier and heavier with each page, with each life event, with each loss. How can Shelley make something so depressing also so beautiful?
If you’re in the mood for something that won’t lift your spirits, but will definitely fill you with feelings…I definitely recommend this classic.”
