Publisher Description

New York Times bestselling author Adrienne Young returns with The Last Legacy, a captivating standalone about family and blood ties, reinventing yourself, and controlling your own destiny.

When a letter from her uncle Henrik arrives on Bryn Roth's eighteenth birthday, summoning her back to Bastian, Bryn is eager to prove herself and finally take her place in her long-lost family.

Henrik has plans for Bryn, but she must win everyone’s trust if she wants to hold any power in the delicate architecture of the family. It doesn’t take long for her to see that the Roths are entangled in shadows. Despite their growing influence in upscale Bastian, their hands are still in the kind of dirty business that got Bryn’s parents killed years ago. With a forbidden romance to contend with and dangerous work ahead, the cost of being accepted into the Roths may be more than Bryn can pay.

“Fantastic! Quick, moving, and totally enjoyable. Leaves me wanting more of their story at the end.”
“Peaky Blinders, but make it fantasy and female. I. Love. This. Book. And Adrienne Young, but that’s no secret. Bryn is a heroine I can not only relate to with her temper, ambition, and confusion about her place in the world, but cheer on as she leaps through hoops and then carves her own path. The internal dialogue was compelling, allowing us to experience the entire journey through a deep connection to herself. As for the Roths, I am OBSESSED with the family dynamics and now dying for a Murrow book (just sending that wish into the universe). Adrienne does a fantastic job of showing not only the horrors of living in such a rough family, but the joys and fierce closeness they possess. They are dangerous—unafraid to brutally push one of their own back in line if they stray—and yet so genuinely affectionate with one another. Henrik’s role is especially complex and fascinating, as we watch him go from the iron fisted, hard ass head of the family to the doting uncle who sneaks his toddler nephew a cake. Adrienne strikes an incredible balance with him, and in doing so that same balance flows through the rest of the work.”
“I liked coming back to this world that Adrienne Young created, but I still want more. This was a really interesting, tense storyline, and I wish we could have seen a little more of it. The ending seemed a little abrupt, but hopefully this won't be the last we see of these characters.”
“Honestly the end was kinda rood”
