““Shooting stars only” ✈️ 4.25/5 ⭐️
Stephen King proves to be at his best when he’s writing a simple and short novel with a clear and suspenseful plot. I really liked this one, it was like Donnie Darko meets the backrooms in King’s writing style, and I love that. The characters were all shockingly enjoyable and had pretty great chemistry (Dinah deserved better though). The “science” behind all the time travel stuff was definitely interesting but kind of hard to conceptualize. I also hate how they spent most of the book trying to understand wtf was happening instead of there being more thrilling scenes. And I wish we got to see more of the titular Langoliers but the build up was great! The ending was also surprisingly great high spirited, which was a great way to end it.
