Bruce Heiden is Professor Emeritus of Classics at The Ohio State University, where he taught for almost forty years. His many research publications on Greek and Latin poetry include Homer's Cosmic Fabrication: Choice and Design in the Iliad (Oxford 2008). Vignettes from this translation have previously appeared in Literary Imagination, Southwest Review, and The Greek Poets: Homer to the Present (Norton, 2010).
