“It's been a long time since I read a Lescroart novel and as I got caught up in this one, I remember how much I enjoy the stories. This one is in the Wyatt Hunt series (PI - very tangentially in the Abe Glitsky world). This one centers around a mysterious text about how his birth mother died and how it sends him spinning off trying to find his birth parents after 40+ years and a VERY cold trail about his mom. Well plotted and good 'tug on the heartstrings' moments as he is bombarded with info about his past and the emotional upheaval it causes. That part very well written. Good mystery and how his persistence finds tiny nuggets of info and gradually manages to piece together what happened.
Recommended and don't think you need to have read others in the series since I haven't read them in years and yet was perfectly able to follow the characters and the story.”
