“One thing that stuck out to me was Hester Why’s need to be ‘needed’, and how she’s kind of not a great person because of that need. But I enjoyed The house of whispers and the mystical tales of fairies taking and replacing humans. There is a high likelihood that I read this again some time.”

About Laura Purcell
Laura Purcell is the author of The Silent Companions and The Poison Thread. She worked in local government, the financial industry and a bookshop before becoming a full-time writer. She lives in Colchester, the oldest recorded town in England, with her husband and pet guinea pigs.
