“I must politely decline to comment, considering my experience with the initial portion of this book. No.
I understand this was likely written in 1997, which does not improve my opinion, but I also recognize the potential for shock value. Many authors aim to create a sense of unease and tension for their readers. No.”

“Bentley Little's "The House" was the most boring horror book I've ever read. It was hard to finish and had a wildly disappointing ending. I picked up this book because the cover had a Stephen King blurb, making Little sound incredible... I'm hoping his other books are better. Otherwise, I don't understand his popularity.
The bulk of this book is confusing and unclear build up to a very weak plot. The plot only becomes evident more than half way through the book. The rest of the time is spent reading about the most raunchy, disturbing sex acts involving a child. Regardless of the child being some sort of evil spirit or whatever, it's unusually disturbing as it is the only clear point of the book. At some point I just started rolling my eyes during these acts, wondering when the point would come. It never did. The ending was garbage and what little suspense I did have completely fell flat during the last few chapters. I regret wasting my time with this.”
