“I was super excited about this book. I listened to Denise Wheatley on the Categorically Romance Podcast and thought this would be my first journey into intrigue. I have found that I don't love intrigue. I'm too much of a scaredy-cat and now I know it's not a great genre for me. This book was not the best. Although I loved the style of writing and dialogue, I needed more. I wanted David and Lena to get together. I know this is not the focus of the book but I needed that element. I loved the way things were so rolling out but the actual crime was not the best. Finding out who did it and the reason why seemed lackluster considering the nature of the crime. Either way, I would give Denise Wheatley another try but not this series.”
