The Haunting

By Natasha Preston
The Haunting by Natasha Preston digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

#1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Natasha Preston is back with another pulse-pounding, twisty read!

Haunted by the past . . .

Penny’s trying to forget about her ex, Nash. His father was arrested for the brutal murder of four teenagers on Devil’s Night last year. Penny’s parents have forbidden her to have anything to do with Nash or his family. It’s hard not to think of what happened as spooky season gets underway—but she’s trying.

That stops when she goes to the Halloween store with her friends to find a costume. What she finds instead is ripped from a horror movie: a classmate bleeding out on the floor of a dressing room. Stabbed.

Is a copycat killer on the loose? The adults are saying no. But Penny knows better.

Surprised Face with Open Mouth
Believable charactersSuspenseful
Expressionless Face“It was just so blah. There were so many times I wanted to just put it down and not pick it back up. I will say it did a good job of justtt about losing me and then bam, some suspense. It was very predictable though. Not the plot, necessarily, but any time there was a suspenseful moment and nothing came of it, right after that was when something happened. The ending was blah but it was a good twist. It just felt like I was reading a book from my high school library”

“I liked this book! It was an easy read, a little predictable in my opinion, Omar took me by surprise, but I’d recommend to someone just getting into thrillers.”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“The ending leaves you with such a big cliffhanger which I love and hate about these books because then you don’t really know what happened but it also makes me excited because I feel like when thriller books end with the people being saved and everything is going to be okay again is just kind of boring way to end it, but Natasha doesn’t do that and because of that I will always come back to her books.”
