“I LOVED the Drowning Woman so I had high expectations for this. Unfortunately, this was not it for me. I couldn’t stand the protagonist and found her unlikeable; her victim mentality combined with her extreme impulsiveness made it so unbearable. I’m not saying that every adult is supposed to be perfect and emotionally-mature because that’s obviously unrealistic, but given that there was great emphasis by the protagonist about her professional background as a trained counselor, I honestly thought she acted more like a hormonal teenager who’s full of contradictions.
On top of that, maybe it’s also because I generally prefer a thriller that gives justice to those who are wronged, but I didn’t find it in this book (imo), which is an absolute bummer given the plot of this book.
This book definitely goes into my Do Not Recommend pile. Thank you, NEXT.”Iliana
