Matekoni’s most important clients has asked him to source a sports car, putting him in a ticklish position as the man’s wife seems to be unaware of the purchase and the client is taking great pains to keep it that way. Nevertheless, with a healthy dose of good humor and kindness, Mma Ramotswe and her associates must help restore the reputation of the hotel and prove that even the most difficult situations can be remedied with honesty and compassion.

“Mma Ramotswe and Mma Makutsi are like old friends at this point in the series. There's some funny business going on at the hotel. Mma Makutsi takes a front seat sine Mma Ramotswe gets food poisoning after eating at the hotel. While I do enjoy the characters Mma Makutsi got on my nerves a little bit this time.”Renee Schiemann

“I’ll be honest…I picked up this book because of the name alone as I really like Hippos and unfortunately this book was not my cup of tea. I almost DNF as there was not enough action for me…def a slower paced detectiveish story….”
