“I liked all the mastery and jumps between past and present. It was a fun book to read, and the characters were amazing”“#shoutout to tess sharpe for writing the perfect wind down book after coming back to my hotel from the horrors that was the bar. Sure, I spent a third of the book completely confused, but nothing will be as confusing as those MEEs! #ProjectSillyBooksUntilTheBarIsOver has finally come to a close 😮💨
I think a lot of this sequel referenced specific details from the first book, so I found it difficult to follow at times because it has been almost three years since I read The Girls I've Been. Then, once I got past the confusion, there was so much going on at all times that I started to get a bit overwhelmed lol. There were so many characters that I was obviously expected to remember, but I only remembered the three main characters.
I don't know if my taste has changed or the writing has, but I wasn't a fan of the prose in this book. It was a lot more juvenile than what I would normally expect in a YA book.
